The Grand Opening of the Red Cardinal Coffee and Shakes, located 102 West Main Street, Dillon, was held on Thursday morning.
Rev. Ron Taylor, head of the Pee Dee Baptist Association, spoke about this Christian-oriented coffee shop already had two Bible study groups who meet there. Taylor said all are welcome. He offered a prayer that this place “would help light people’s way.” Then the ribbon cutting was held.
Travis Jackson read a letter from Mayor Tally McColl, who was not able to be present. He extended his congratulations on the grand opening. He said they appreciate the investment in downtown and that they were valued. He said he loves the coffee and chicken salad and said his kids said that they have the best ice cream in town.
Dillon County Councilwoman Detrice Dawkins said it was a great day in Dillon County. She thanked them for choosing Dillon County.
Chamber Board member Herb Jacobs thanked them for opening the restaurant and welcomed them on behalf of the Chamber.
Pastor Johnny Corbett thanked everyone for attending. Mr. Caulder thanked Liz Herlong of The Groundout in Marion for her help. Pastor Corbett said they appreciate everyone’s business.
