Swimming Area Opens This Weekend At Little Pee Dee State Park

The swimming area at the Little Pee Dee State Park opens this weekend, Saturday, May 24th, and will remain open until Labor Day weekend, September 1st. Swimming is only allowed in the designated swimming area which is marked by ropes and bouys. There are rules for the swimming area posted and a life ring is available if needed. The swimming area opens at 9 a.m. and closes one hour before sunset.
There is no lifeguard so swimming is at your own risk. The swimming area rules are:
* The swimming are a is open from 9 a.m. until one hour before the park closes.
* All swimmers must remain inside the buoys and ropes at all times.
* The island and old dock are off limits.
* Children must be supervised at all times.
* Swim diapers must be worn by babies. Regular diapers are not allowed.
* Horseplay or unnecessary roughness is not allowed.
* Glass containers or breakable objects of any kind are not permitt in or around the swimming area.
* Do not leave trash. You may dispose of any trash in the dumpster at the campground entrance.
* You must exit the water at the first sign of lightning or thunder.
* Alcoholic beverages of any kind are not permitted.
