COLUMBIA —The South Carolina State Transport Police (STP) announced its 2023 Officer of the Year during a ceremony held recently in Columbia.
This year’s overall winner for STP Officer of the Year is Officer First Class L.M. Loredo (pictured at top), who was recognized for her hard work and outstanding performance in Region 1 (Columbia area). With more than 1,000 commercial motor vehicle inspections in 2023, as well as her exceptional enforcement efforts during that time, Loredo demonstrated the pride she takes in her work and her dedication to keeping South Carolina roads safe. In addition to her accomplishments from 2023, Loredo was recognized as STP’s 2022 Rookie of the Year.

A division of the South Carolina Department of Public Safety, the State Transport Police is primarily responsible for enforcing state and federal laws governing commercial motor vehicle traffic.

And I am equally proud of all the regional winners.
