South Carolina ETV and Public Radio Provides Comprehensive Coverage of the 2026 Legislative Session

COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina ETV and Public Radio (SCETV) will offer extensive, accessible and transparent coverage of the 2026 legislative session which begins on Jan. 13. Through a combination of live broadcasts, in-depth reporting and livestreaming, SCETV continues its longstanding commitment to ensuring citizens remain informed and engaged with the decisions that shape the state’s future.
State House Today delivers live coverage of the South Carolina House and Senate every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday on ETV World. Broadcasting directly from the Statehouse in Columbia, the program provides real-time access to debates, decisions and votes, giving viewers a direct look at the legislative process. This year, SCETV reporters will also be providing daily updates on what to expect each day of the legislative session during the live broadcast, offering audiences added context and insight before proceedings begin. Viewers can watch ETV World using an over-the-air antenna, by streaming live on the SCETV website or by checking their cable provider’s channel listings for ETV World (ETVW).
Complementing this live coverage, the State House Gavel is a daily online reporting blog scheduled to publish each morning Tuesday through Friday while lawmakers are in session. Journalists Gavin Jackson and Maayan Schechter offer timely, contextual reporting on legislative actions, debates and discussions to help South Carolinians stay informed about policies that have potential to impact their daily lives.
Coverage extends beyond the Statehouse chamber through programs such as This Week in South Carolina, airing Fridays at 7:30 p.m. on ETV, providing a recap of the week’s top headlines, and the South Carolina Lede podcast available on Saturdays and Tuesdays, offering in-depth discussions on public policy topics statewide.
