A wreck involving six vehicles and resulting in two deaths occurred on I-95 at approximately 6:52 a.m. this morning, according to S.C. Highway Patrol Lance Corporal Lena Butler.
The wreck occurred on I-95 Southbound at the 193 mile marker, .1 mile north of Dillon.
The driver of Unit 1, a 2017 Honda CRV, had one occupant who died on the scene. Unit 2, a Honda Accord had two occupants-the driver died on the scene and the passenger was injured and airlifted to McLeod Regional Medical Center. Unit 3, a 2024 Nissan Sentra, had one occupant, who was injured and transported to a local hospital. Unit 4, a Ford 140, had four occupants and no injuries. Unit 5, a 2014 Chevrolet 1500, had three occupants and no injuries. Unit 6 was a 2020 Volvo Tractor Trailer, with only one occupant, the driver, and there were no injuries.
Unit 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 were all traveling southbound on I-95. Units 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 were stopped in traffic on I-95. Unit 6 collided with Unit 1 starting a chain reaction with Units 2, 3, 4, and 5.
