Sheriff’s Office Receives South Carolina Opioid Recovery Funds; Detective Porter To Educate Public On Opioid Abuse

Sheriff Jamie Hamilton is pleased to announce that Dillon County applied for and received the South Carolina Opioid Recovery Fund (SCORF). He is beyond excited to partner with Trinity Behavioral Dillon to combat opioid abuse in the county. The purpose of this grant is to provide literature and candid conversation about opioid abuse. Moving forward, Detective Bobby Porter will be traveling all throughout the county to talk and educate people about opioid abuse. Sheriff Hamilton truly believes education is the key to success. “I am overwhelmed sometimes when I face a family and they are trying to get a loved one help; help is here! Our team will get you on the road to recovery and healing,” he said.
