Resilient Season for the Marlboro County Lady Bulldogs

Head Basketball Coach Leah Zimmerman proudly recognized the Marlboro County High School Lady Bulldogs Basketball Team for their hard work and determination this season. Alongside JV Head Coach Wendell Gibson and assistant coaches Larry McNeil, Troy Fairley, Rasheda Patterson, and former student athlete TaNiya Hairston, the coaching staff celebrated a year marked by growth and perseverance.

The Lady Bulldogs finished fifth in the region, earning a spot in the playoffs and competing with heart in the first round. After trailing by 24 points against a team now headed to the state championship, the Lady Bulldogs battled back to narrow the margin to just nine points, demonstrating grit and resilience.

With no seniors on the varsity roster, the team looks forward to returning every player for the 2026 2027 season. The student athletes present included Layla Freeman, Zaire Bridges, RaNaviah McNeil, Serenity Bethea, Serenity David, Destiny Ford, Henrietta Lewis, Harmony Lewis, and Janasha Sloan.

Coach Zimmerman expressed her gratitude to the players for their dedication and shared excitement for the bright future ahead for Lady Bulldogs Basketball!
