Bobby Porter will be transitioning from investigations to my new role as Community Relations for the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office.
Porter will be collaborating closely with Trinity Behavioral Care to combat the epidemic of drug use and overdosing and raise awareness throughout the community.
“As a witness to the daily struggles of overdosing, I have seen the devastating effects it has on individuals and their loved ones. Notably, 60% of the cases I’ve worked, specifically breaking and entering theft, involved suspects with some type of addiction. I firmly believe that with the right resources and support, we can initiate the process of helping individuals with addiction to regain their footing and become productive citizens of Dillon County. I am grateful to God and Sheriff Jamie Hamilton for this opportunity to make a positive impact in our community,” Porter said.
He will assume the new role on Monday.
