LAKE VIEW WILD GATORS WIN 6-1 OVER McBEE IN GAME 2 OF STATE TITLE SERIES
The Lake View Wild Gators won 6-1 over McBee in game 2 of the best of 3 series played in Lake View on Wednesday, May 28, before a large crowd, to force game 3 of the series.
Lake View’s Chase Price retired the first McBee batter he faced with a strike out. The next batter hit a fly to center for out 2. McBee’s #18 hit one to keep right for a stand-up triple. Price retired the next batter as he went down swinging.
With McBee’s #8 on the mound, Kason Herlong hit a fly to short left for out 1. Brayden Borders garnered a walk. Chris McGill hits a grounder to right for a single to place runners on the corners. Lake View’s #8 hit a sac fly to give Lake View a 1-0 lead after the first inning.
McBee’s #22 hit one up the middle for a lead-off single in the top of the second inning. #11 sac bunted to move the runner to second. Price retired the next 2 batters as they went down swinging.
The Wild Gators added 2 runs in the bottom of the third inning to go up 3-0.
In the bottom of the fifth inning, Lake View added 3 runs to go up 6-0.
In the top of the sixth inning, McBee managed a run to cut the lead to 6-1.
Game 3 of the best of 3 series will be played on Saturday, May 31.
