The 4-1 Pee Dee Academy outscored the 12-5 Dillon Christian School 12-2 in varsity softball played in Mullins on Tuesday, April 8, in the run-ruled 6-inning game.
Pee Dee Academy scored a run in the bottom of the first inning, added 3 runs in the bottom of the second inning to take a 4-0 lead over the visiting Lady Warriors. Neither team scored in the third inning. DCS placed 2 runs onto the scoreboard in the top of the fourth inning. In the bottom of the fourth inning, Pee Dee Academy added a run to go up 5-2. The Lady Golden Eagles added 2 runs in the bottom of the fifth inning and 5 runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. Pee Dee connected for 14 hits and 12 runs. The Lady Golden Eagles did not commit an error.
Dillon Christian School committed 3 errors in the game.
Dillon Christian School’s Molly Andrews connected for a home run, 2 rbi, and scored a run in her 3 at-bats. P. McKenzie had a hit in 2 at-bats. Lilli Shooter had a hit and scored a run in her 2 at-bats.
Lilli Shooter was tagged with the loss. She pitched 5 innings and allowed 14 hits, 12 runs of which 9 were earned, walked 2, and struck out 9.
Dillon Christian School will travel to Lake View on Friday, April 25, for a 6:00 p.m. game.
Pee Dee Academy will travel to Dillon Christian School on Friday, May 2, for a 5:30 p.m. game.
