From Pee Dee Coslition
October starts tomorrow, and so does Domestic Violence Awareness Month. This year we are addressing the theme “Every1 Knows Some1.” Domestic violence is a community and societal issue, not just a family or personal one. We are asking our community to get more involved in the conversation and in taking action to help end it. Pee Dee Coalition serves 7 counties providing domestic violence advocacy and support for victim-survivors. We also provide a program for people that are using abusive tactics in their relationships to help them shift their behaviors to a healthier outcome. Our parenting classes help those that may need a peer support influence for healthier parenting skills.
Come out to events if you can, we have them in all of the counties we serve. Talk to an advocate about how you can show up for victim-survivors and make change. You can also reach out to schedule a community education program or training. Use the hashtags below when you post supportive posts so the cause gets more attention.
