The Pee Dee Coalition and volunteers met at the fountain at South Plaza to “Paint The Town Purple.” Their first order of business was to turn the water “purple” in the fountain in recognition of October is National Domestic Violence Month.
After Glenda Schleich, Lisa Whittington, and Mayor Tally McColl spoke, the group dispersed to place purple ribbons downtown Dillon. Prayer was offered.
The mission: Pee Dee Coalition is a non-profit volunteer organization dedicated to the reduction of sexual assault, family violence, child abuse, and to the needs of victims.
