The Pee Dee Academy Golden Eagles defeated the Dillon Christian School Warriors 67-59 in varsity basketball fast-paced action played in Dillon on Friday, January 24.
Pee Dee Academy controlled the opening tipoff.
The Golden Eagles #4 was fouled as he scored the first 2-point basket of the game. Pee Dee’s #13 hit a 3-point shot from the corner. The Golden Eagles’ #4 laid one in for 2 points. Pee Dee was up 7 points before DCS’s Jackson Outlar connected for a 2-point basket. Pee Dee sank another 2-point basket that was answered with a 3-point basket by Thomson Stone. Pee Dee’s #15 sank a 3-point shot from the corner. Dillon Christian School’s Thompson Stone scored a 2-point basket followed by a 2-point basket by Pee Dee’s #5. The Warriors’ Jackson Outlar sank a 2-point basket to cut Pee Dee’s lead to 5 points, 14-9. Dillon Christian School’s Reese Bracey sank a 2-point basket. Pee Dee’s #5 calmly sank 2 free throws. After the first quarter of play, Pee Dee Academy was up 16-11.
Jackson Outlar sank a free throw for Dillon Christian School to begin the second quarter of play. Pee Dee’s #5 calmly sank 2 free throws and quickly followed up with 2 more free throws to give Pee Dee an 8-point lead, 20-12. The Golden Eagles’ #11 scored a 2-point basket. The Warriors’ Jackson Outlar connected for a 2-point basket on a bank in shot. Pee Dee’s #12 sank a 2-point shot to give the Golden Eagles a 9-point lead, 24-15. He followed up with another 2-point basket. Dillon Christian School’s Thompson Stone was fouled as he shot. He sank 2 free throws. Thompson Stone followed with a steal and a 2-point layup. Jackson Outlar banked one in for 2 points for DCS to cut the lead to 5 points, 26-21. Pee Dee’s #15 laid a basket in for 2 points. DCS’ Thompson Stone scored a 2-point basket followed by 2 free throws by the Warriors’ Jackson Outlar to cut the lead to 3 points, 28-25. The Warriors’ Thompson Stone sank 2 free throws to cut the lead to 1 point, 28-27. Pee Dee’s #4 laid one in for 2 points. DCS’ Thompson Stone attempted a 3-point shot as time expired in the first half with Pee Dee leading by 3 points, 30-27.
Dillon Christian School is 9-11 overall and 1-3 in SCISA Region III.
Pee Dee Academy is 12-4 overall and 4-0 in SCISA 3A Region III.
Dillon Christian School will host Kings Academy on Monday, January 27. The Warriors will travel to Williamsburg Academy on Tuesday, January 28.
Pee Dee Academy will travel to Florence Christian on Tuesday, January 28.
