Parade Of Cars Remembers Shayla Price

A parade of vehicles went through Latta, Lake View, and Dillon before ending up at Cooper Funeral Home in memory of Shayla Price on June 14. Onlookers lined the streets. Several had on t-shirts and had items of remembrance and purple balloons which they released when the parade passed by. According to her obituary, “Shayla Michelle Price, 16, died Monday, June 10, 2024 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 17, 2024 at the Dillon Church of God with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday at Cooper Funeral Home. Born in Florence, SC, June 18, 2007, she was the daughter of Sasha Michelle Price. She graduated from Lake View High School Class of 2024. With only being 16, Shayla had over 30+ college acceptances and $153,000.00 in scholarships. She was employed as a Stocker with Dillon Food Lion.” Her mother had requested that she be honored this way on social media. The accident where she died occurred on Jo Ann Branch Road, Lake View.
