Shannon Berry has been named the new principal and Candice Bohachic has been named the assistant principal at Gordon Elementary School in Dillon for the 2024-2025 school year.
Berry served as a science and math teacher at JV Martin from 2003 through 2012. From 2012 through 2017, she was the assistant principal at Gordon Elementary. Berry served as principal at East Elementary School from 2017-2024.
Shannon Berry is married to Captain Ryan Berry of the Dillon Police Department. They have 3 children: Nicholas who will be a sophomore at Dillon High School this year, Cain who will be in the sixth grade at Dillon Middle School, and Bailey.
Candace Bohachic was a teacher at East Elementary School from 2013 through 2020. From 2021 through 2024, she served as a Title I Facilitator at Dillon Middle School and Stewart Heights Elementary School. She is married to Coley Bohachic who is a baseball coach at Dillon High School. They have 3 children: John Coley who will be a sophomore at Dillon High School this year, Reese who will be in the eighth grade at Dillon Middle School, and Liam who will be in the sixth grade this school year.
Gordon Elementary School has 15 classroom teachers, 1 art teacher, and 4 fine art teachers. Gordon Elementary School is offering Art this year for the first time in years.
The theme for Gordon Elementary School is “Game On” for this school year. This theme is motivated the students to want to learn by making everything competitive.
