New Housing Development Coming To Oak Grove Area

Dillon County District Four Councilman T.F. “Buzzy” Finklea announces that a new housing development is coming to the Oak Grove area.
The development will be located on three tracts of land amounting to roughly 30 acres of property on Gary Road. Phase One will consist of approximately 30-35 houses to be built. The single family homes will be built on about three-fourths of an acre and the houses will have a value of approximately $170,000 to $214,000 per house. There will be covenants to protect the investment of the homeowners such as no mobile homes on the same property. There is also a house on one acre of land that is being sold.

Finklea said one of the great selling points of this property is that it is located at a midway point between Dillon and Florence with easy access to Marlboro County and Marion County making it easy for people to get to work, school, etc. The property is located in the Latta School District.
The developer, Sage Tuttle of RDE (Real Dynasty Estates), said that he has not seen much housing development in this area, and there are a low number of housing listings. He feels this is the right time to start the process of developing housing in this area.
David Longacre of Palmetto Leadership Dillon County, who has been heavily involved in helping to bring the development to this area, said Dillon County is in desperate need of single family housing. He and Finklea agree that this will help drive even more economic development in the Latta and Oak Grove area.

Dillon County Economic Development Director Rodney Berry said that all one has to do is look at Greer and see the impact of Inland Port Greer to see the growth that is coming to Dillon with our Inland Port. Berry said in the next census he expects to see the trajectory go up. He said he believes that the first ones to build will be glad they did. He said this area will offer the benefits of country living with easy access to larger areas.
Tuttle, who is excited about the possibilities of this project, said that once they start this development he believes it will generate interest from others.
Finklea said he is extremely pleased to be able to assist in bringing this type of development to his district and believes it will be the start of more to come.

Construction is expected to start before the end of the year.
