The NETC Trailblazer Golf team recently competed in the 2025 Stitch Golf/SCC Flyers Spring Intercollegiate hosted by Sandhills Community College. The 36-hole event was held at Longleaf Family Golf Club in Pinehurst, NC.
The format was 36 holes of stroke play golf with a 9:15am shotgun start each day. Round one brought about a very windy day with steady winds of close to 20 mph. The sun popped its head out a couple times in the five hours of play, however, the predominantly overcast skies kept the day very chilly. Evan Cox fired a 10 over par 82 while Hunter Lee shot 98 in the difficult playing conditions.
Day two was a bit warmer with sunny skies remaining throughout the round, however, difficult hole locations proved a bit harder for both players with Evan shooting 93 for a total tournament score of 175 while Hunter slipped to a score of 103 for a 36-hole total score of 201.
The golf team competes next week in the Johnson & Wales collegiate event being held at Eagle Chase Golf Club in Marshville, NC.
