Minutes
January 14, 2025

The Latta School Board of Trustees met for the regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. in the District
Administrative Conference Room. In accordance with S.C. Code of Laws of 1976, as amended, Section 30-4-80(E). The Dillon Herald was notified of the time, date, place and agenda of this meeting. The agenda is also posted in the District Office and
on the district website.
Trustees present were Kyle Berry, Ray George, Vanessa Harrison, Kwame Hennagan, Eleanor Powers and JoAnn Williamson. Stuart Poston was absent.
Chair Kyle Berry called the meeting to order and welcomed all present and Stephanie Ard opened with prayer.
Kyle Berry recognized Mr. Joe Williams who has written a book, “Washing our Hands in the Clouds”, and was presenting it to the board to be placed in the EPAC lobby with other local artists’ works. There being no corrections or additions to the November 12, 2024 minutes and the current agenda, Eleanor Powers made a motion that they stand approved. Joann Williamson seconded the motion. Vote was unanimous.

OLD BUSINESS
None

DEPARTMENTAL BUSINESS
Donna Taylor presented the status reports for October 2024 and November 2024 on the General Fund budget.
An update on federal and state program monitoring and the new math adoption process was given by Sandy Jones.
Dollie Morrell introduced Tramaine Smith as a first year induction teacher.
Stephanie Ard gave an update on operations.
Stephanie Ard reminded Board members to complete the 2025 ethics form.
In observance of School Board Recognition month, each Board Member was presented a gift.
Mrs. Eleanor Powers was recognized for 10 years of service.
Stephanie Ard shared that the new district website and app are active. A QR code was given to
the board members to be able to download the app and Mrs. Ard shared a little about how each
of these are being used to highlight all we have going on in our schools.
NEW BUSINESS
Stephanie Ard shared that the district calendar draft was not ready to be presented at this time.
Stephanie Ard reviewed the superintendent’s evaluation process with the Board.
Board member Kwame Hennagan gave his letter of resignation to the Board due to he and his
family relocating.

There being no further business, Eleanor Powers made a motion to adjourn at 7:30 p.m. Joann
Williamson seconded the motion. Vote was unanimous.
