My name is Mike Burch, and I am running as a Republican for Solicitor in the Fourth Judicial Circuit.
I am a lifelong resident of Pageland, a tenth-generation South Carolinian, and no stranger to hard work, dedication, and public service. I come from a long family line of law enforcement and became a volunteer firefighter at the age of sixteen. After receiving a golf scholarship to USC-Lancaster and making the NJCAA Academic All-American team, I transferred to USC’s main campus and graduated Magna Cum Laude. I went on to graduate from the University of South Carolina School of Law. I currently serve as the Senior Assistant Solicitor in neighboring Lancaster County. In 2022, I was named the SC Young Lawyer of the Year by the South Carolina Bar.
I love this community. That’s why I know you deserve a highly qualified, dedicated, and experienced Solicitor. Also, as the only candidate for this position to work for a Republican administration, I know what it means to bring strong, conservative leadership to the Solicitor’s office. Ready on Day One, I will tackle our community’s most pressing issues, like violent and drug-related crimes.
I am prepared to work with legislators to pass homicide by overdose legislation and prosecute fentanyl dealers to the fullest extent of the law. Too many families have suffered because of these deadly drugs. Moreover, violent criminals and repeat offenders have no place on our streets. I will make every effort to ensure those accused of violent crime stay in jail without bond until their trial date. The Solicitor’s office under my leadership will work hand-in-hand with law enforcement and prosecutors in every county to ensure we are partnering for a safer community.
Additionally, timely justice is extremely important to me. I will work through the case backlog to ensure victims and their families are not waiting years for justice to be delivered. Lastly, I will work to expand our Circuit’s Veterans Court to every county to assist those who have sacrificed so much for us.
With your vote on TUESDAY, JUNE 11, I will fight for a safer future for the families of Chesterfield, Darlington, Dillon, and Marlboro counties.
