The unveiling of the sign naming Jackson Winkeler Memorial Road in Floyd Dale was held on Saturday morning. Winkeler was an airport officer at the Florence Regional Airport, when he was fatally shot while making a traffic stop on January 5, 2020. He was the first police officer killed in the United States in 2020. The Jackson Winkeler Memorial Foundation was formed in his memory and does good works in the community. Pictured are his parents and those who gathered for the unveiling.
