Latta resident, Sherita Hall, is running for Latta Town Council to serve the town by using her well-honed compliance, finance management, personnel management, and program management skills.
Sherita found her way to Latta over three years ago after living in Maryland and being in Massachusetts for five years for work. When Sherita learned of a few of Latta’s needs she thought about how she could serve.
Over the last 26 years, Sherita has served for-profit companies and non-profit organizations. Initially Sherita secured an entry level position in the clinical operations department of a company in the pharmaceutical industry. Sherita was responsible for administrative activities including issue and action tracking, meeting minutes capture, patient data management, payment tracking, and documentation management.
As her career progressed, Sherita transitioned to a quality management position that included auditing responsibilities. Sherita learned the importance of ensuring compliance with regulations by evaluating the suitability and effectiveness of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and the associated training program. Compliance with local laws and government regulations was emphasized within quality management and compliance became an integral part of Sherita’s professional mindset.
In a parallel part-time Business Manager role, Sherita was able to serve a small volleyball company that was in debt when she started. Within 12 months, Sherita successfully completed all outstanding business tax submissions, paid off the long-standing business loan, and reduced all other debts by 50%. Within 24 months, all remaining debts were paid in full, and the company was comfortably ‘in the black’.
By the middle of Sherita’s career, she moved from management of the day-to-day operations to company leadership being promoted to Director, Senior Director, Executive Director and Vice President roles respectively. As a company leader and executive, Sherita worked with other company leaders and executives to set strategy and oversee the execution of said strategy.
In addition to her professional experience, Sherita holds a B.A. in Psychology, an M.A in Health and Wellness Counseling, and a PhD in Industrial/Organizational Psychology. Sherita’s educational background positions her to understand the broad needs of others and how to best address them within a business setting.
Sherita’s service also includes activities in the local church where she has been a Bible teacher for the youth, choir director, praise team leader, and community outreach programs participant. Sherita is currently a member of Community Worship Center where she can be found serving meals to the Latta community on Tuesdays.
Sherita has long been guided by a clear and unwavering principle: “My purpose is to use my abilities and skills to effectively serve others.” This commitment to service is not just a personal belief, it is the foundation of her leadership.
As a member of the Latta Town Council, Sherita will bring that purpose to life by working diligently to address the needs of our community. Her dedication, experience, and heart for service make her a strong advocate for the citizens of Latta. With Sherita on the Council, the voices of the people will be heard, respected, and represented with integrity.
