Hello to everyone, My name is Rick Watson; most people know me just as Rick. i am a candidate for mayor in the Town of Latta, S.C. i want to thank everyone for their tremendous amount of support from the Town of Latta, and i am looking forward to serving the citizens of Latta, S.C., as mayor.
As a candidate for mayor, i would like to share some of my goals that i would like to achieve as mayor of Latta, S.C. and some of these ideas would be…
1- organize and assemble a team of community leaders, one to two leaders in each community of Latta that would communicate with their neighbors on any issue that they may have in their neigborhood and the community leaders would then contact the mayor’s office so that any issues can be addressed in a timely matter and brought before town council if needed and this would insure that everyones voice be heard.

2-I also would like to establish a relationship between our local law enforcement and our community that is lasting and trustworthy, work with town council in hopes to develope a more competitive pay and incentive package for our police dept. so that Latta could have the safety and security of a well=organized and qualified police dept that would serve the community to the satisfaction of all people
3-I would like for the town to create a website where citizens can read and understand current issues that have been brought before town council, see upcoming meetings, events, festivals etc. This would ensure that everyone has the latest information and also so that the citizens of Latta can read and hear true facts about any problems, agendas, current matters or developments that would affect the Latta area
4-i am also working on assembling a team of volunteers that their job would be solely to create new ideas for events,festivals including our school recreation and town beatification that would bring much needed attention to latta that would make the town a more inviting place to visit and live.
It would also bring more tax dollars into the town. there are many programs that i am currently working on and i already have volunteers ready, waiting and willing to serve the town of Latta to create a more successful town.
In closing.. i would like to say that i always look for forward to new candidates seeking office because they bring fresh ideas and new solutions to old problems. i ask that we always welcome them.. because we surely need them. thank you for considering me for mayor of Latta, S.C….. Rick
