MCHS Girls Wrestling Team Making History

The MCHS Girls Wrestling Team is making history at Marlboro County High School and they are just getting started!

Although the girls competed in fewer matches this season, they delivered outstanding results. The team finished with an impressive 6-2 record, captured the Region Championship, and earned a third-place finish in the state dual competition. Even more impressive, they won 59 percent of their individual matches.

This season also brought major milestones. Mary Williams became the first-ever three-time state qualifier in school history. Haley Duncan earned her second state qualification, and Gabriella Murillo qualified for state in her first year. The team also celebrated KeAsia Brown as a two-time state qualifier and the first-ever All-State wrestler in school history.

As we honor our three graduating seniors, Gabriella Murillo, Haley Duncan, and Mary Williams, we also look ahead with excitement. With 17 wrestlers returning, including experienced upperclassmen and a strong group of freshmen, the future of girls’ wrestling at MCHS is incredibly bright.

Wrestling continues to grow, especially on the women’s side, and here in Marlboro County, the momentum is building!

The Lady Bulldogs are not just competing; they are creating a legacy!
