MCHS Boys Basketball Builds Momentum For The Future

Head Coach Demetrius Knox proudly reflected on a strong season for the Marlboro County High School Boys Basketball team. Joined by Coach Jermaine Purvis, Coach Kyle Dupree, Coach Ryan Dupree, Coach Travis Zimmerman, and Coach James Pate. Coach Knox celebrated a year of growth, resilience, and determination.
The Bulldogs finished third in the region and earned a spot in the first round of the playoffs. In a hard-fought matchup against Battery Creek, the team narrowly fell by two points. Despite the loss, Coach Knox emphasized that the team improved with every game and competed at a high level throughout the season.
One exciting highlight for the program is that the team has no seniors, meaning every player will return next season. With experience and chemistry already in place, the future looks bright for Bulldog Basketball.
Student-athletes present include Tymire German, Cleon Purvis, Isaiah Whitner, Jaden Adams, Amari Bethea, and William Jeffcoat.
William Jeffcoat earned All-Region honors and has been nominated for the PeeDee All-Star Game this year.
With all players returning and momentum on their side, the Bulldogs are ready to compete and build on this year’s success!!
