Marlboro County High School Earns $6,000 in T-Mobile Friday Night Lights Campaign

Bennettsville, SC – Marlboro County High School (MCHS) proudly participated in the T-Mobile Friday Night Lights national engagement campaign. This program celebrates high school athletics and school spirit across the United States. Through creative social media highlights and weekly fan engagement, MCHS showcased its talented student athletes, dedicated coaches, and supportive community.
The campaign, which launched the week of August 20, invites schools nationwide to share their athletic pride and compete for grant funds to support their sports programs.
Upon entering, MCHS immediately received $1,000 and continued to shine through consistent, rules-compliant weekly posts spotlighting Bulldog athletics. This effort earned the school an additional $5,000, bringing the total to $6,000 in grant funding for the athletic department.
Although MCHS did not advance to the next round for the $25,000 award, the district received positive feedback from Sean Barnett, T-Mobile’s district liaison, who commended MCHS for its outstanding participation and adherence to all program guidelines. Larger schools from major metropolitan areas held a numerical advantage in advancing, but Marlboro County’s engagement, creativity, and Bulldog pride were truly unmatched.
“We’re incredibly proud of our students, staff, and community for rallying behind our Bulldogs,” said Dr. Helena L. Tillar, Superintendent of Marlboro County School District.
“This opportunity not only provided financial support for athletics but also strengthened our sense of school spirit and community pride.” Destination Success: One Journey, One Vision, One Goal Marlboro County School District extends sincere appreciation to T-Mobile for its partnership and commitment to empowering high school athletics nationwide. The district looks forward to competing again next year with even more energy and Bulldog pride.
