At approximately 8:30 p.m. on September 21, 2025, a male walked into Dollar General on S. Main St brandishing a firearm and demanded money. While escorting the cashiers toward the front of the store, he held them at gun point. Upon exiting the store, a witness attempted to chase the suspect down but stopped when the suspect started firing at the witness. The witness was not injured.
