Main Street Methodist Men Donate $45,000 To Helping Hands of Dillon

The Main Street Methodist Men donated $45,000.00 to Helping Hands of Dillon from the Twentieth Annual Golf Tournament.
In the past 8 years, this group has donated nearly $300,000.00 to the Helping Hands Food Pantry. All of the money collected remains in Dillon to purchase food for the less fortunate. There is never any administration fees removed from this money.
There were 20 teams (80 players) who participated in this golf tournament held at the City of Dillon Vivian Johnson Memorial Golf Course held on Friday, September 19.
Ronnie “Catfish” Carter thanked everyone for the donations to this very worthy cause.
Teresa and Brian Mason of the Johnson Foundation thanked everyone for the generous donation.
City of Dillon Mayor Tally McColl expressed his appreciation for all the hard work that the Main Street Methodist Men had done and continue to do for the residents of Dillon County.
Main Street Methodist Church Pastor, Rev. Henry Altman blessed the tournament with prayer including the blessing of the food.
There were hot dogs, hamburgers, etc. that were prepared by seven men while the ladies of the church prepared brownies, chili, etc. Pepsi of Florence donated the Pepsi products for this tournament.
The Main Street Methodist Men have also constructed 168 handicap ramps made of wood and 100 sets of metal handrails. The men also donate Christmas boxes every year.
The hard work and generosity of the Main Street Methodist Church is very much appreciated.
