Main Street Methodist Church of Dillon will present “Whispers of Passion,” a cantata by Joseph M. Martin, on Sunday, April 13th at 7 p.m. in the sanctuary. It will be performed by the Charles Wesley Choir with guest vocalists and instrumentalists.
The Passion Festival will begin with a Prelude which will include the songs, “Were You There?” and “When I Survey The Wondrous Cross.” This will be followed by a welcome and invocation by the Reverend Henry A. Altman. Followed by the offertory where “I Walked Where Jesus Walked” will be performed by Shaw Thompson, tenor. There will be a prologue, a solemn invitation, the performance of “Whisper of the Palms” by soloist Diane Woodle, “Nocturne of Grace,” “Redeemer of My Heart,” by soloist Cathy Nicholson, “O Love That Will Not Let Me Go,” “Contemplation of the Cross” and “When I Survey The Wondrous Cross.” This will be followed by the benediction by Rev. Altman, and the postlude “Hallelujah.” After there will be refreshments and fellowship in Asbury Hall. This performance is presented to the Glory of God and in honor of Mrs. Nell Vincent.
