The Loris Lions handed the Dillon Wildcats a 73-63 region loss in varsity basketball played in Dillon on Tuesday, January 27.
Loris controlled the opening tipoff and led 4-0 before Dillon tossed in a free throw. The Lions went up 9-3. With 2:17 remaining in the first quarter, Dillon had cut the lead to 2 points, 11-9. By halftime, Dillon trailed 18-9. Dillon committed 2 fouls in the first quarter, and Loris committed only 1 foul. By halftime, Dillon trailed 37-17. Dillon did not commit a foul in the second quarter while Loris committed only 1 foul.
In the second half, Dillon managed to cut the lead to 10 points at game’s end.

Loris’ head coach is Andrew Eads. He is assisted by Jeffrey Bellamy, Sig Long, and James Parker.
The 9-9 Dillon Wildcats will face Aynor in Aynor on Friday, January 30, at 7:30 p.m.
The 19-3 Loris Lions will travel to Waccamaw High School on Friday, January 30, for a 7:30 p.m. game. Loris is 6-0 in region play and in first place.
