Lea Foster Khalil Has Successful Miss South Carolina Pageant

Miss Gamecock Lea Foster Khalil may not have won Miss South Carolina, but she did have a very successful pageant winning scholarships and being recognized for nominating USC Basketball Coach Dawn Staley as a Woman Of Excellence.
Khalil competed in the pageant at the Township Auditorium on Saturday in a contest which was eventually won by Miss Clemson Davis Wash.
Khalil won the Eddie Greenleaf Memorial Scholarship and a STEM Award. She was awarded a #1,000 scholarship for nominating the winner of the Woman of Excellence award, Dawn Staley. She also got to take the stage with Staley for the presentation.

Khalil, the daughter of Nader and Tara Khalil, is a 2021 graduate of Latta High School. At the University of South Carolina, she is majoring in Neuroscience with minors in Dance and Medical Humanities and Culture at USC. She is pre-medical with plans to pursue an MD/PhD Program after graduation.
