Latta won 3-0 over the Lake View in varsity volleyball action played in Lake View on Wednesday, September 11.
The scores were: Lake View 21 and Latta 25, Lake View 16 and Latta 25, and Lake View 22 and Latta 25.
In set 2, Latta was up 17-14 and pulled away to 20 for Latta and 15 for Lake View. Latta scored 5 points and held Lake View to only 1 more points to close out the win on set 2.
In set 3, Latta led 5-2 before Lake View knotted the score at 5 each. The set was again tied at 6. Latta managed 12 points while Lake View had 11 points. The set was again tied at 15. Then each team took turns scoring until Latta managed to out score Lake View by 2 points to take a 20-18 lead. Lake View pulled to within 1 points at 22-21 before Latta claimed the win at 25-22.
Lake View is 3-3 for the season and 3-2 in Region play.
Lake View will travel to Hemingway on Tuesday, September 17, with the junior varsity to begin at 5:00 p.m. and the varsity will follow.
Latta will travel to Green Sea Floyds on Tuesday, September 17, with the junior varsity to begin at 5:00 p.m. and the varsity will follow.
