Latta Vikings Baseball Team Wins 17-3 Over Carvers Bay Bears

The Latta Vikings won 17-3 over the visiting Carvers Bay Bears in varsity baseball action played in Latta on Tuesday, April 29.
After Latta held Carvers Bay scoreless in the top of the first innings, the Vikings placed a run onto the scoreboard in the bottom of the first inning to go up 1-0.
Carvers Bay responded with 2 runs in the top of the second inning to take a 2-1 lead. However, Latta tied the score with a run in the bottom of the second inning.
In the top of the third inning, the Bears added a run to go up 3-2.
Latta responded in the bottom of the third inning with 8 runs added to the scoreboard.
Latta held Carvers Bay scoreless in the top of the fourth inning and added 7 runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to take a 17-3 lead.
The Vikings held the Bears scoreless in the top of the fifth inning to close out the run-ruled game.
Latta connected for 12 hits while holding Carvers Bay to 6 hits.
Carvers Bay had 3 errors in the game, and Latta had 4 errors in the game.
