Latta Rotary Club Recognizes Latta Baseball Team For Accomplishments

The Latta Rotary Club recognized the Latta Baseball Team for their accomplishments this season. While the team got off to a slow start losing to Dillon in the pre-season, the team rebounded peaking at the right tine and played for the state title. President Robert Norton said the Rotary Club wanted to show their gratitude for the great job they did this season and said they played “awesome ball.” Three seniors-Nick Lane, Greyson Williams, and Eli Jones-spoke about what the season meant to them. Then, Coach Robbie Brown spoke about their persistence, grit, and toughness. He said there was no star player, but their collective effort made them successful. Four seniors are graduating this season. He said the expectation for the team will be to play for the state title again next year. Incoming Superintendent Stephanie Ard spoke about how proud she was of the team and how proud she was of their spiritual walk. She said they banded as brothers and she was overjoyed for their success. She said they were going to be great human beings and the best is yet to come. Corky Lane spoke about how extremely impressed he was with the team and said if you have the right heart, you can do it. Each team member present introduced themselves to the club. Everyone in attendance was really proud of the team.
