Notice to Latta Town Council Candidates From Latta Police Chief Allan Rogers Regarding Signs
Dear Candidate,
Please see the below Town of Latta Ordinance in references to the placement of political signage.
With the upcoming election, we would like to have all signage in compliance with this town Ordinance.
Any signage that is not in compliance with specifications set in the town ordinance will be removed and be available for collection at the Latta Police Department.
We respect everyone’s right to campaign for their election, but we would appreciate every candidate being in compliance with the ordinances.
ARTICLE III. ADVERTISING
Sec. 8-63. Posting on public property.
It is unlawful to place any advertisement, business, political or otherwise, or any notice or sign of any nature on public property within the town by the use of a placard, picture, paper, circular, painting, or by any means or device whatsoever. However, an employee of the town may, with written orders of his supervisor, place an advertisement, post an announcement, or an event sign on public property for the purpose of perpetuating town business or its interests or the interest of the public, including, but not limited to, legal advertisements as required by law to be posted by the town.
