Darlington County Sheriff James Hudson, Jr., would like to release the following information:
On 9/16/2024, shortly after 4:00 a.m., deputies responded to a convenience store located at 2500 Cashua Ferry Road in the Darlington area of Darlington County. This was in reference to a burglary. The business was broken into, and an ATM machine was stolen. Responding deputies discovered a wrecked vehicle in an area near the business with the ATM still inside the vehicle. One suspect was located and arrested.
Eddie Scarborough, Jr., of Latta was arrested and charged with Burglary 2nd degree, Grand Larceny, Possession of a Stolen vehicle, and Criminal Conspiracy.
This case is still under investigation at this time and more arrests may follow.
