The Latta Lady Vikings shut out the Green Sea Floyds Lady Trojans 6-0 in varsity softball action played at Green Sea Floyds on Tuesday, April 22.
Latta got onto the scoreboard in the third inning on a home run by Maddie Berry.
Latta added 4 runs in the top of the fifth inning when Maddie Berry singled and 3 runs scored.
Latta’s last run came in the top of the sixth inning when Maddie Berry singled and a run scored.
Maddie Berry picked up the win while striking out 13, allowed no runs, 5 hits, and walked 1 in 7 innings.
Maci Collins took the loss for Green Sea Floyds. She pitched 7 innings and allowed 9 hits, 6 runs, struck out 8, and walked 1.
Latta did not commit an error in the game while Green Sea Floyds committed 4 errors in the game.
The Lady Vikings turned a double play in the game.
Latta’s Maddie Berry connected for 3 hits including a home run, 2 singles, and 5 rbi in 4 at-bats. A. Hyatt had a double in 4 at-bats for the Lady Vikings.
Green Sea Floyds’ Mk Strickland had 2 hits in 3 at-bats. Blair Elliott had a double in 2 at-bats.
Latta is 14-3 overall and Green Sea Floyds is 8-9 overall.
