The Latta Lady Vikings edged the Hannah-Pamplico Lady Raiders of Pamplico, S.C., on Tuesday, April 8, in varsity softball action played in Latta.
Latta got onto the scoreboard with a run in the bottom of the first inning to take a 1-0 lead. Neither team scored in the second or third innings. In the top of the fourth inning,
the Lady Raiders placed 2 runs onto the scoreboard to take a 2-1 lead over the Lady Vikings. However, in the bottom of the fourth inning, Latta added a run to knot the score at 2. In the top of the fifth inning, Hannah-Pamplico managed to score 3 runs to take a 5-2 lead. In the bottom of the fifth inning, Latta managed to get 2 runs to cut the lead to 5-4 in favor of Hannah-Pamplico. In the bottom of the sixth inning, Latta scored a run to tie the game at 5 each. In the bottom of the seventh inning, Latta scored a run to edge Hannah-Pamplico 6-5.
The Hannah-Pamplico Lady Raiders committed 5 errors in the game while Latta committed 2 errors.
Hannah-Pamplico’s Kadence Poston pitched 6.2 innings and allowed 5 hits, 6 runs of which 1 was earned, walked 3, and struck out 10 of the 33 batters she faced.
Latta will host Marion on Wednesday, April 9, at 6:00 p.m. Latta will travel to Johnsonville on Thursday, April 10, for a 6:00 p.m. game.
The 9-2 overall and 5-0 Hannah-Pamplico Lady Raiders in A Region 6 will travel to Johnsonville on Wednesday, April 9, for a 6:00 p.m. game.
Hannah-Pamplico will host Lake View on Thursday, April 29, at 6:00 p.m.
