The Latta Lady Vikings defeated the Lake View Lady Wild Gators in Region 6A volleyball played in Latta on Tuesday, October 8.
The Latta junior varsity won by 2-0 over the visiting Lake View junior varsity. The scores were: set 1, Latta 25 and Lake View 10; and set 2, Latta 25 and Lake View 13.
The Latta varsity won 3-0 over Lake View. The scores were: set 1, Latta 25 and Lake View 10; set 2, Latta 25 and Lake View 8; and set 3, Latta 25 and Lake View 13.
After the conclusion of the junior varsity match up, the Latta seniors were recognized. The seniors were Hendley Ann McIntyre, Madison Berry, Sophie Haselden, and Maddie Berry.
Latta’s Samantha Townsend had 5 aces and 17 digs. Madison Stevens had 3 aces, 12 kills, and 10 digs. Hendley Ann McIntyre had 4 aces, and 26 assists. Madison Berry had 4 kills and 7 digs. Chayse Walters had 7 kills.
Latta is 9-1 in region play.
Latta will travel to Green Sea Floyds for a region matchup against the Lady Trojans on Thursday, October 10. Junior varsity action will begin at 5:00 p.m. followed by varsity action at 6:30 p.m.
Lake View will host Hemingway on Thursday, October 10, with junior varsity action at 5:00 p.m. followed by varsity action at 6:00 p.m.
