The Lake View Wild Gators returned home on Friday, October 11, with a 28-6 win over the Carvers Bay Bears at Carvers Bay.
Lake View kicked off to Carvers Bay to begin the game.
Neither team could get the offense going as each team had to punt not once but twice in the first quarter. In the beginning of the second quarter, the Wild Gators were forced with a fourth down and goal but turned the football over on downs. Carvers Bay took possession on Lake View’s 1-yard line. Lake View recovered a fumble on their own 3-yard line. Tyrell Foxworth rushed for the 3-yard touchdown to give Lake View the first lead of the game, 6-0. The Wild Gators’ Lucas Schamp’s PAT was good.
The Bears responded with a touchdown of their own on a 15-yard pass play to cut the lead to only 1 point, 7-6. The PAT was missed.
With under a minute to go in the first half, Lake View’s Tyrell Foxworth scored on a short rushing touchdown to give Lake View a 13-6 lead. Lucas Schamp’s PAT was good. Lake View was up 14-6.
Carvers Bay kicked off to the Lake View Wild Gators to begin the second half of play. With about 10 minutes to go in the third quarter, Kason Herlong threw a completion to Caleb Myers who scored a 44-yard touchdown. The PAT was good by Lucas Schamp. Lake View led 21-6.
Carvers Bay found themselves inside Lake View’s 20-yard line and faced with a fourth down and 9 yards to go. The Bears turned the pigskin over to Lake View on the Wild Gators’ 5-yard line but Lake View was forced to punt.
The Bears could not get the offense going and was forced to punt.
After 3 quarters of play, Lake View was up 21-6.
With about 5 minutes left in the game, Lake View’s Dawson Hunt intercepted a pass and carried the football 43 yards for the touchdown. Lucas Schamp’s PAT was good. Lake View led 28-6.
With about 2 minutes remaining in the game, Carvers Bay was on Lake View’s 28-yard line but could not score.
Lake View will host Latta on Friday, October 18, at 7:30 p.m.
The Carvers Bay Bears will host the Hemingway Tigers on Friday, October 18, at 7:30 p.m.
