The Lake View Wild Gators defeated the Johnsonville Flashes 26-0 in junior varsity football action played in Lake View on Wednesday, September 18.
Lake View was up 12-0 after the first quarter of play.
The intermittent rain drops did not slow play.
Gabriel Lee rushed 5 yards for the Lake View Wild Gators with 5:16 remaining in the second quarter. Lake View’s #11 carried for the 2-point conversion. Lake View led 20-0.
The Flashes could not sustain a drive and had to turn the football over to the Wild Gators.
After an incomplete pass intended for #4 for Lake View, Gabriel Lee was stopped on the carry, and a pass completion to #11, Lake View’s #51 punted to Johnsonville.
At halftime, Lake View was up 20-0.
During halftime, the Lake View cheerleaders threw out small footballs to the Lake View fans.
The Johnsonville Flashes took the kickoff in the third quarter and had to punt on fourth down.
After the Wild Gators received the punt, Lake View’s #5 carried for 5 yards followed by #9 who carried, #6 carried for 8 yards, and Lake View’s #5 scored the touchdown with 3:59 remaining in the third quarter. Lake View’s #11 was stopped on the 2-point conversion attempt. Lake View was up 26-0.
After the kickoff, Johnsonville picked up a first down prior to fumbling the football, and Lake View recovered on Lake View’s own 41-yard line.
At the end of the third quarter, Lake View led 26-0.
Lake View’s #51 got off a good punt.
Johnsonville faced a fourth down and elected to punt. Lake View fumbled, and Johnsonville recovered.
Johnsonville turned the football over on downs, and Lake View punted deep in their own territory. Johnsonville took over on Lake View’s 31-yard line.
The Flashes’ #1 caught a pass and carried for a first down followed by Johnsonville’s #5 who made a reception and carried the football. Lake View intercepted a pass in the end zone to prevent the score.
At the conclusion of the football game, everyone including players, coaches, fans, etc. were encouraged to meet on the 50-yard line for fellowship and prayer.
Lake View will travel to Hemingway on Thursday, September 25, for at 6:00 p.m.
Johnsonville will host Hannah-Pamplico on Thursday, September 25, at 6:00 p.m.
