The Lake View varsity football teams and coaches prepare for another season of Wild Gators football where winning is a tradition.
Head varsity football Coach Daryl King and his coaching staff are preparing the team for another season. Coach King took over in 2007 from Jewell McLaurin.
Under Coach King and staff, the Lake View team has gone to the state finals in 2011, 2014, 2016, and 2020. Lake View won the state title in 2020. Lake View has won 10 state titles in football.
Coach Cloy Ford has been on the coaching staff for the 36 previous years. He is in charge of the offensive line and inside linebackers. Andy Ford is responsible for linemen on offense and defense. Jeffrey Ceasar is in charge of the receivers and cornerbacks while Kip Herlong is responsible for the running backs and outside linebackers. Coach Larry Inman is in charge of the ends on defense and offense. Kevin Hamilton is in charge of the quarterbacks and safeties. Coach Mac Brey is responsible for the special teams. Will Arnette assists with the linemen.
Lake View will participate in the Jamboree at Dillon on Friday, August 16.
Lake View will host Marion for the opening game on Thursday, August 22, at 7:30 p.m. On Friday, August 30, the Wild Gators travel to Mullins. On September 6, Lake View has an open date. On September 13, Lake View will once again hit the road and travel to Scotts Branch. On September 20, Lake View will travel to Johnsonville. Lake View will celebrate Homecoming in Lake View as they host Hemingway. On October 4, Hannah-Pamplico will be in Lake View for Senior Night. On October 11, Lake View travels to Carvers Bay. On October 18, Latta invades Lake View for the in-county rivalry. On October 25, Lake View has an open date. Lake View will travel to Hannah-Pamplico on Friday, November 1, to close out the regular season. All games begin at 7:30 p.m.
