Lady Wildcats Defeat Marlboro Lady Bulldogs

The Dillon Lady Wildcats defeated the Marlboro Lady Bulldogs 59-33 in varsity basketball played in Dillon on Tuesday, February 4.
Dillon led 21-1 after the first quarter. By halftime, Dillon was up 31-15. After 3 quarters of play, Dillon led 45-22.
The Lady Wildcats’ Treasure Davis led all scorers with 20 points with eight 2-point baskets, a 3-point basket, and a free throw. Mariah Campbell connected for four 2-point baskets, a 3-point basket, and 3 of 4 free throws. Zynijah Pernell added 8 points with two 2-point baskets, a 3-point basket, and a free throw. Khwnylahi McKinnon and Ayonna Lester each had three 2-point baskets for 6 points each. Azyriah Ford and Alyssa Lee each sank a 2-point basket. Jiana McGill connected for a free throw.
The Lady Bulldogs’ Iyanna Boatwright led Marlboro County with 10 points with two 3-point baskets and two 2-point baskets. London Dudley added a 3-point basket and a 2-point basket for 5 points. Zaire Bridgers sank 5 free throws for 5 points. Jordyn Zimmerman and Destiny Ford each had two 2-point baskets for 4 points each. Serenity Bethea connected for a 2-point basket. Teyona Jenkins sank a free throw.
The Dillon Lady Wildcats are 17-3 overall and 7-0 in region play in first place.
The Marlboro County Lady Bulldogs are 7-11 overall and 3-3 in region play.
The Dillon Lady Wildcats will travel to Waccamaw on Friday, February 7, for a 6:00 p.m. game.
