Kiwanis Club Holds Annual Golf Tournament

The Dillon Kiwanis Club held the annual golf tournament on Saturday, April 13, at the City of Dillon Vivian Johnson Memorial Golf Course. Beginning this year the golf tournament will be known as the Ray Wilson Memorial Golf Tournament in honor of his participation in the Dillon Kiwanis Club and for all of his contributions to the club.

Darryl Miller began the ceremony followed by Ryan Berry who thanked everyone for their support. He also thanked the many sponsors of the event. Berry also informed those in attendance that the baseball season had begun at the Michael S. Lecholop Park on the Ray Wilson Field. There was over 200 kids who comprise the 17 teams consisting of 3 major teams, 3 minor teams, 6 coach pitch teams, and 5 T-ball teams. Berry also solicited new members for the club. Gene Hill was also thanked for manning the grill and preparing the sausage sandwiches and the hamburgers and cheeseburgers.

Valerie Miller presented the rules to those who were participating.

Alex Lewis offered a prayer.

The golfers began shortly after 1:00 p.m.
