The Kingstree Blazers of Kingstree, S.C., defeated the Marion Swamp Foxes in varsity football action played in Marion on Friday, September 19, in a league game.
The Marion Swamp Foxes received the opening kickoff but were unable to score. Kingstree took over and placed 6 points onto the scoreboard. The 2-point conversion failed.
The score was 6-0 at this point and would remain that until halftime.
The Blazers took the opening kickoff of the third quarter and rushed for a touchdown. Kingstree was successful with the 2-point conversion to go up 14-0. At the end of the third quarter, Kingstree was up 14-0.
Kingstree added a touchdown and a 2-point conversion to go up 22-0 in the fourth quarter. Marion added a touchdown and a PAT.
The Swamp Foxes’ coaching staff consists of Head Coach Brian Hennecy who is in charge of the special teams. Matt Caulder is the offensive coordinator. Randall State is the defensive coordinator and is in charge of the linebackers. Randy Dennison coaches the safeties. Yamasi Buey and Rick McMahan coach the wide receivers. Yamasi Buey also coaches the cornerbacks. Matt Caulder is in charge of the quarterbacks. Demetrious Johnson is the running backs coach. Keshawn Rowell and newcomer Darry Russ coach the offensive line. Keshawn Rowell coaches the defensive ends. Draper Pearson is in charge of the defensive tackles.
Kingstree will host Lake City on Friday, September 26, while Marion will face in-county foe, Mullins.
