The Kemper Baptist Church held the God & Country Rally on Sunday, July 6, at 1030 a.m.
The inclement weather did not deter people from coming to the service.
Pastor Haywood Proctor welcomed everyone and offered a prayer.
The American Flag and the Christian Flag were both honored. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all.
The Wilmington Celebration Choir had to get up early this morning to be on time with the weather as a hinderance. The group blessed those in attendance with many songs. The Spirit of the Lord was present during the entire service. In the beginning of the service, the Kemper Baptist Church Youth Choir accompanied the Wilmington Celebration Choir. At other times in the service, the Kemper Baptist Church Adult Choir and Pastor Haywood Proctor accompanied the Wilmington Celebration Choir.
Congressman Russell Frye was the guest speaker. He managed to arrive from Washington on time although our area was facing the effects of Tropical Storm Chantal. Congressman Frye remarked that Congress has passed the “big one bill” that is formally known as the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, also referred to as the Big Beautiful Bill or OBBBA. It’s a major tax and spending package, primarily extending tax cuts from the 2017 tax law and implements various spending priorities for the Trump administration. He also recognized and thanked the veterans who were present.
Pastor Haywood Proctor delivered a message.
After the service, everyone was invited to enjoy a meal and fellowship in the beautifully decorated Fellowship Building.
Kemper Baptist Church is located at 731 Kemper Church Road, Lake View, S.C.
