The Jesus monument at Greenlawn Cemetery was vandalized sometime between April 1st and 2nd, according to a report by Pfc. Austin Lee Grice of the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office. The report states that an employee told the deputy that he noticed earlier in the day on April 2nd that the statue had been damaged. Three large pieces of marble had been broken off near the base of the statue and someone had written the world “help” on the side of the statue in purple/blue paint. Anyone with any information about this vandalism is asked to call the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office at 843-774-1432. Detective Michael Barfield is the investigator.
