Incoming Dillon City Council members took their oaths of office prior to the Dillon City Council meeting on Monday night.
CHIP HUGGINS
With many family and friends present, Chip Huggins, the new councilman for Dillon City District 3, was sworn into office on Monday night at the steps of the Dillon County Courthouse by his sister, Judge Salley McIntyre. At the Dillon City Council meeting during council reports, Huggins thanked the voters of District 3 for electing him and putting their trust in him for the next four years. He said he looked forward to working with council for the betterment of his district and the City of Dillon. He has an open door and said he would be glad to talk to anyone at any time. Huggins previously served as a councilman 29 years ago and brings a great deal of experience to the table.

DANIELLE M. SNITH
With her son, Daniel, holding the Bible, Danielle M. Smith, a local veteran, was sworn into office for Dillon City District 1 at the steps of the historic Dillon County Courthouse. Administering the oath was Dr. Rodney L. McCorkle of Manning Baptist Church. At the Dillon City Council meeting during council reports, Smith said that she wanted to thank everyone for trusting her and uplifiting her as the councilwoman for District 1. She said she looks forward to working with the community, listening to people’s opinions, and learning what they feel their needs are.
