Inaugural Veterans Luncheon Held At Union Baptist Church

The inaugural Veterans Luncheon, hosted by the Dillon County Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6091 at Union Baptist Church in Latta on June 26, 2024, gathered 34 Veterans for an informative and supportive event. Distinguished representatives from Humana Healthcare, SC VFW Service Officer, VA Healthcare (Dorn Hospital and Vet Center – Columbia, SC), SC Department of Veteran Affairs, SC National Guard Service Member and Family Care, and Agape Hospice Services delivered presentations on various significant topics. Attendees were able to process or update their medical claims and obtain essential information on the SC Pathfinders Program, VA health care enrollment/eligibility, assistance with obtaining military personnel and medical records, VA suicide prevention initiatives, VA death benefits, Medicaid supplemental health insurance, and hospice care. The event received positive feedback, and Post 6091 extended its sincere appreciation to Union Baptist Church for providing the fellowship hall and Humana Healthcare for their generous monetary contribution towards the meal. The next luncheon will be held on August 26, 2024, at Fresh Beginnings Christian Center.
