Mildred D. Mishue, 84, passed away Friday, August 9, 2024, at the McLeod Hospice in Florence after an illness.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery directed by Cooper Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Born in Dillon, SC, March 29, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Lonnie E. Daniels and Ella Carter Daniels. She was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. She was employed as a seamstress, sales associate, and most recently, a Cafeteria Manager at East Elementary School. She was famous in the Dillon area for baking her homemade 18-layer chocolate cake. Along with her brothers and sister, she continued her late brother’s desire to assist all veterans in Dillon County through Help For Veterans, Inc. She was a member of the Yellow Jessamine Garden Club, American Legion Auxiliary, and McLeod Auxiliary (former) for 10 years. Mildred obtained her GED in 1988.
Survivors include her children, Tammie Norton of Dillon, Anthony (Mendy) Johnson of Hartsville, Sheila Berry of Latta, Dena (Earle) Dowling of Darlington, and Russell (Miranda) Williams of Dillon; siblings, Johnnie (Cheryl) Daniels, Kenneth (Rosemary) Daniels, Cathorine (Bobby) Price, all of Dillon, Lonnie (Julie) Daniels of Hamer, and Charles (Mary) Daniels of Myrtle Beach; 11 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Mishue was preceded in death by her husband, Holmes Mishue; son, Robert Williams; brothers, Jimmie, Rembert, and Benjamin Daniels; and her sister, Dorothy Campbell; a grandson, Kenneth William Berry; and a great-granddaughter, Kennedy Annalise Berry.
