Michael Leneau Hamilton, 77, passed away at the MUSC Health Florence Medical Center April 21, 2024, surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Thursday, April 25, 2024, at Kannaday Funeral Home Chapel In Dillon with Reverend James Smith officiating. Interment in Hamilton Family Cemetery (about 1.5 miles out of Dillon on West Main St.) following the service. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at Kannaday Funeral Home in Dillon from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Kannaday Funeral Home in Dillon is honored to serve the family.
Michael was born in Dillon, SC, December 18, 1946, the son of the late Leneau Livingston Hamilton and Marie Bailey Hamilton. He attended Dillon Schools, Clemson University, and Florence – Darlington Tech. He was an electrical instructor at Marion Vocational School and worked for Dillon County Code Enforcement. He attended East Dillon Baptist Church. His favorite hobby was collecting and trading firearms, knives and antiques.
Mr. Hamilton is survived by his wife of fifty-four years, Regina Long Hamilton; sons, Austin Michael Hamilton (Stephanie) of Dillon, SC and Bradley W. Hamilton (Addie) of Dillon, SC; daughter Julie Hamilton Vause of Dillon, SC; grandchildren, Brittany Hamilton, Jenna Brooke Hamilton, Allison Hamilton, Jocelyn Hamilton, Haley Hamilton, Kenneth Michael Vause, and Courtney Rowell.
